Prime Factor System 1   /   Details

Dimensions: 150 cm x 150 cm x 4 cm, canvas stretched on stretcher bars, 24 karat gold leaf and pencil on midnight blue chalkboard paint, created in August 2023.

Natural numbers up to 768 depicted with their respective number of prime factors. The fractal repetition is indicated with delicate pencil lines. Intervals are 6-12-24-48-96-192-384-768.

 

The number of required prime factors of a natural number can be read off at the marked circular levels. For one factor, the line only passes through the first circular level; for two factors, it passes through two circular levels, from the inner to the outer.
